FAQ

  • What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the most effective permanent hair removal option. Targeted electric currents make their way to the bottom of the hair follicle via a small probe (about the size of a hair). The current stops growth at the root, causes the existing hair to fall out and prevents future growth. This method has been in use for nearly one hundred years. We use the newest technology available and an accurate, gentle technique to provide our clients with comfortable and effective results on treatment areas.

  • Is it safe?

Electrolysis is completely safe, has been used for nearly one hundred years, and is the only method of permanent hair removal that is approved by the FDA.

  • How long does it take?

Each treatment ranges from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on what area of the body hair removal is desired. The number of treatments required to achieve permanent results depends on hair removal methods previously used, the type and amount of hair. Results are typically achieved after multiple treatments over 3 to 18 months. Book a consultation for a more specific estimate of how long it would take to achieve individual results.

  • Why electrolysis over laser treatments?

Electrolysis is the only recognized method of permanent hair removal. While laser treatments slow and reduce growth, they don’t stop it completely. Laser also targets pigment and doesn’t work on lighter colored hair while electrolysis is effective on any hair regardless of texture or color.

  • What type of hair does it work on?

Electrolysis works on all hair textures and colors.

  • What should I do to prepare for my appointment and what should I do after each treatment?
